OUR BELIEVES

1. ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF FAMILY

We believe that the source of family is a divine institution established by God and is the cornerstone of society. Marriage between a man and a woman is the foundation of the family, with children as a blessing and reward from God.

Genesis 2:18, 24

The Lord God said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.' ... That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh."

Matthew 19:4-6

Haven’t you read,’ he replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator “made them male and female,” and said, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh”? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.

Psalm 127:3-5

Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them."

ABOUT THE FAMILY MEMBERS

A. Husband/Father

We believe that the husband/father is the leader of the family, responsible for loving his wife as Christ loves the church, providing for the family’s needs, and guiding them spiritually.

Leadership and Love
  • Ephesians 5:23, 25: "For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church... Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her."
  • Colossians 3:19: "Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them."
Spiritual Guidance
  • Ephesians 6:4: "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."

B. Wife/Mother

We believe that the wife/mother is a supportive partner to her husband, nurturing her family with love, wisdom, and care. She plays a crucial role in managing the household and guiding the spiritual and moral development of her children.

Support and Respect
  • Ephesians 5:22-24: "Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church... Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything."
Love and Care
  • Titus 2:4-5: "Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."
Teaching and Nurturing
  • Proverbs 31:26-27: "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness."

C. Children

We believe that children are called to obey and honor their parents, which pleases God and leads to blessings. They should be open to learning from their parents and growing in wisdom and righteousness.

Obedience and Honor
  • Ephesians 6:1-3: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother’—which is the first commandment with a promise—‘so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.’"
Learning and Growing
  • Proverbs 1:8-9: "Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck."
